Cron named TESA Administrator of
the Year
WEATHERFORD - Dr. Deborah Cron,
Superintendent of Weatherford ISD, was awarded Administrator of the
Year at the Texas Educational Support Staff Association (TESA) Summer
Work Conference in Austin last week. Cron was nominated by the
Weatherford Educational Support Association (WESA) which is comprised
of support personnel from WISD and Weatherford College.
Fifty percent of the judging
criteria comes from the interest and participation the administrator
has with the support personnel locally and at the state level. Cron
has served as keynote speaker for Area Workshops, presented breakout
sessions, and has given her whole-hearted support to the activities of
WESA. She encourages all WISD administrators to seek opportunities
for professional and personal growth for their support staff.
Not only has Dr. Cron been active
at the local level, but with TESA as well. She has served on the TESA
Advisory Board and has presented breakout sessions at several Summer
Work Conferences.
At the 2005 TESA Fall Work
Conference, the keynote speaker for the President's Breakfast called
late the night before with a family emergency. Dr. Cron happened to
be in the hotel at another event, and graciously agreed to fill in on
a very short notice. This is just one example of the many times that
she has gone the extra mile in support of both WESA and TESA.
“Dr. Cron has been a constant
encouragement to the support personnel of WISD, and has allowed many
opportunities through our local and state associations. She is an
excellent communicator, a highly respected educator, and maintains an
incredibly busy schedule, yet she is always available to lend advice,
answer questions, or listen and support,” said Jana Worthington,
2005-2006 TESA President and WISD employee.
Dr. Cron, one of four nominees for
the state award, will now be submitted to the National Association of
Educational Office Professionals for the Administrator of the Year
award to be announced July 2007 in Seattle, Washington.
"Congratulations to a most
deserving nominee,” said Worthington. “Dr. Cron is a role model to
all those who serve in administrative roles in the state of Texas.”
