Weatherford ISD Wins 5 Top Communications Awards

The Weatherford Independent School District recently received five statewide awards for excellence in school communications.

The awards were announced at the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Star Awards banquet during the organization's annual conference in Austin.  The awards were:

  • Gold Star (website): www.weatherfordisd.com by Susan Chapel and MJ McDaniel

  • Gold Star (brochure): Project Opportunity, a foundation scholarship program offered to WHS students

  • Gold Star (external newsletter): The Communicator, WISD's community magazine distributed on a quarterly basis.

  • Gold Star (holiday invitation): WISD's annual holiday card featuring original artwork by WHS student, Jared Wilson

  • Silver Star (brochure): Strategic Plan brochure

Each year, TSPRA recognizes school communicators for outstanding work in print and electronic media.  The organization has more than 700 members, and more than 800 entries were submitted for the annual awards competition.
