Application Packets for Board Election
Available
Application Packets for the May 7, 2005
Board of Trustees ballot are now available in the Superintendent's
Office at 1100 Longhorn Drive. Places 6 and 7 will be the only
places available for election.
A person may not be elected trustee of
an independent school district unless the person is a qualified voter.
To be eligible to be a candidate for, or elected or appointed to, the
office of school Board Trustee, a person must meet the specified
qualifications as outlined in the WISD 2005 Candidate Packet.
In order to better inform potential school board
candidates, the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) will offer a
Board Candidate Workshop at the Region 11 Service Center on Tuesday,
February 22. This workshop is free and will give potential
candidates an opportunity to discuss a number of questions with
experienced school board members. For more information on this

The deadline for filing an application
for a place on the May 7, 2005 ballot is Monday, March 7, 2005 at 5:00
p.m.
