At Mary Martin we depend heavily on our volunteers. There
is so much that would never happen without the hard work of all of our volunteers.
Volunteers are required to pass a Criminal Background check before being allowed to work
in the school.
Please contact Amy Pilkington if you are interested in volunteering.
- Workroom Volunteers
- This involves coming into the workroom and completing projects requested by teachers.
- Teacher Volunteers
- You would be assigned to a particular teacher and would work out the details of how
often you will work and how the teacher will get the work to you.
- Library Volunteers
- Our librarian, Debbie Mendrop, needs help with shelving books, checking books in and
out, and various other tasks. She will be happy to train you. Please contact her to
volunteer.
- Math Fair
- There are many opportunities to help with Math Fair. Math Fair is held in the spring.
You can volunteer to help create a game or you can volunteer to man one of the game
stations for a set time period when the children come to the Math Fair.
- Reading Mentors
- We have a Reading mentor program in which you would be assigned to a particular child
for the year. You would meet with that child once a week and read with that child.
- Room parents
- Each classroom has an assigned Room Parent who will coordinate the parties and other
activities for that teacher. You can also volunteer to help the room parent for your
child's classroom.
- PTA
- You can volunteer to serve on the PTA Executive Board or one of the subcommittees.
Please see the Committees page of this web site for more details about the PTA committees.
- Field Day
- Field Day takes place very near the last day of school each year. This is an activity
our children look forward to each year. There are games and activities set up outside for
the students to compete. The PTA serves a hot dog lunch to all of the children and
volunteers. We need many volunteers to help Field Day happen. There will be more
information available about what types of jobs are available in the Spring.
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- This is a week set aside to show our teachers how much we appreciate
all they do for our children. Among the activities planned is a luncheon.
