For students to be considered as having disabilities and be
eligible for special education services, they must meet one
of the following thirteen (13) eligibility categories:

- non categorical Early Childhood
(3-5 year olds, non-specific disability)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Students
that qualify may begin to receive services by their third
birthday, and may continue to receive services if needed
through the school year that they turn 22 years old.

Currently, the WISD Special
Education Department is able to serve students through
eleven distinct programs. Eligibility for any special
education class or service is determined by the ARD
committee.
