506 Business Computer Information Systems I* (BCIS1-TP) Two Semesters: Grades 10-12 *-Tech Prep College Credit Prerequisite: Keyboarding Proficiency Requirement for graduation - This course fulfills 1 credit of Technology Applications Students apply technology skills to personal/workplace business situations focused on word processing, spreadsheet, database, telecommunications, desktop publishing, presentation management, networking, operating systems and emerging technologies. Students should complete the course with an intermediate skill level in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. 660 Automotive Technician 1* (AUTOTEC) Two Semesters: Grades 11-12 * Tech Prep College Credit Prerequisite: None
Certification: ASE Certification in Brakes and This two period automotive lab course offers job-specific training in the use of hand/power tools, safety and equipment operation. Students will be able to gain national certification in two areas of the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Youth training program during their first year. Curriculum will cover brakes and electrical systems. Career opportunities and leadership skills will also be explored. Training will provide students with an opportunity to prepare for the National ASE Certification test in two areas. Students may have the chance to work at local automotive dealerships between their junior and senior year during the summer break. 661 Automotive Technician 2* (AUTOTEC2) Two Semesters: Grades -12 * Tech Prep College Credit Prerequisite: Auto Tech I Certification: ASE Certification in Steering and Suspension Systems and Engine Performance Students will receive additional training in two different areas of the ASE automotive curriculum covering electrical systems and engine performance. The second year is a two period class. Students who complete the curriculum will be qualified to be employed as an entry level service technician or to pursue post-secondary education in the automotive technology industry. Students may apply to take the National ASE Certification test in steering and suspension systems and engine performance during the second year in the automotive program. 662 Diversified Career Preparation I (DCP1) Two semesters: Grades 11-12 Prerequisite: None P.E. Credit: This course fulfills 1.0 credit in P.E. (An additional 0.5 credit of PE-1A Foundations must be taken to satisfy the PE graduation requirement) Students must be employed for the full year at approved training stations in the community. DCP is a non-specific occupational course designed to provide classroom training in how to get, keep and advance on-the-job experiences. Work-based learning is provided by local business sponsors and goals are set through training plans for the student. 663 Diversified Career Preparation II (DCP2) Two semesters: Grade 12 Prerequisite: DCP I Students must be employed for the full year at approved training stations in the community. DCP is a non-specific occupational course designed to provide classroom training in how to get, keep, and advance on-the-job experiences.
