F=First Semester S=Second Semester 506 Business Computer Information Systems I* (BCIS1-TP) Two Semesters: Grades 10-12 *-Tech Prep College Credit Prerequisite: Keyboarding Proficiency Requirement for graduation - This course fulfills 1 credit of Technology Applications Students apply technology skills to personal/workplace business situations focused on word processing, spreadsheet, database, telecommunications, desktop publishing, presentation management, networking, operating systems and emerging technologies. Students should complete the course with an intermediate skill level in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. 673/674 Marketing Yourself (MKTSELF) Fall or Spring Semester: Grades 10-12 Prerequisite: None Marketing Yourself is an introductory course designed as a portfolio-based personal development course for all students. Students will develop a systematic approach for evaluating and seeking career opportunities by discovering how personal qualities relate to successful performance. 675 International Marketing (INTLMKT) Spring Semester: Grades 10-12 Prerequisite: None Students utilize resources on the Internet to determine the necessity for an international focus and outline a plan for an international venture. This course teaches students to compare and contrast international marketing with target marketing and to recognize the similarities between multinational and mass marketing. 671 Sports and Entertainment Marketing (SPORTSMK) Fall or Spring Semester: Grades 10-12 Prerequisite: None Sports and Entertainment Marketing are two of the hottest fields in the United States today. Whether you are a professional athlete, owner of a recreational business or a manager of an entertainment business, this course will help with understanding how to market your self or business. Best practices/management systems in your business will be taught in this exciting industry. Activities will include promotion, locating sponsors, sales activities and communication necessary for successful sports and entertainment events. |
