506 Business Computer Information Systems** (BCIS1-TP) Students apply technology skills to personal/workplace business situations focused on word processing, spreadsheet, database, telecommunications, desktop publishing, presentation management, networking, operating systems, and emerging technologies. Students should complete the course with an intermediate skill level in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. This course utilizes the MS Office software and fulfills the Technology Application requirement. Pre-requisite: Keyboarding proficiency. 2 semesters. Grades 10-12.
508 CISCO Academy I**
(INTNET1)
Skills are developed in advanced
technologies required by the business environment, such as word
processing, telecommunications, networking, operating systems, web page
development, and emerging technologies. Students’ curriculum from the
Internet assists them in their preparation for the CISCO Certified Network
Administrator, CCNA, certification exams. Pre-requisite: BCIS 1 or
Computer Science. 2 semesters. Grades 11-12.
509 CISCO Academy II**
(INTNET2)
The CISCO Academy provides a basic introduction to the development and impact of telecommunications, and the operational and technical aspects of network and telecommunications systems. This course is essential for students preparing to take the CISCO Certified Network Administrator, CCNA, certification exam. 2 semesters. Grade 12. Pre-requisite: CISCO Academy I 513 Business Co-op 1** (BECP1-TP)
Students are employed for a full-year in a
paid business work experience at an approved training station. Resources
for additional knowledge and skills for individual training plans include
content from occupational specific courses at an appropriate advanced
level, recommendations from each student’s training station supervisor,
and any occupational training objective as determined by the teacher.
This course will utilize the MS Office Software. Pre-requisites:
Keyboarding proficiency.
514 Business Co-op 1I** (BECP1I-TP) Students are employed for a full-year in a paid business work experience at an approved business administrative training station. Training plans identifying work specific skills will provide students experiences related to that industry. This course is designed to provide continued study of concepts and skills for workplace experience. Special emphasis is placed on duties and responsibilities common to most offices; focusing on planning and organizing work, establishing priorities, skills relating to communications and developing business equipment and technology skills. This course will utilize the MS Office Software. Pre-requisites: Keyboarding proficiency, BECPI and teacher approval. Two semesters, Grade 12.
