National Career and Technology Honor Society

Purpose

  • To Reward excellence

  • Develop self-esteem

  • To promote business and industry’s critical work-place values honesty, responsibility, initiative, teamwork, productivity,
    leadership, and citizenship.

Requirements

  • Serve as an officer or committee member of a Career and Technology
    Education Organization.

  • Attend all meetings in a semester of your Career and Technology Organization with no more than one absence.

  • Participate in at least one of the fundraising efforts of your organization.

  • Attend one leadership conference or participate in one of the Career and Technology Education organization’s local, district, regional, state or national competitions.

  • Participate in at least one community service activity either through the CTE organization or through other organizations as approved by your sponsor.

  • Maintain a high school cumulative average of at least 80 or a current year
    average of at least 85.

Membership Benefits: 

WHS has a formal National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony for all new members each spring that parents may attend in the Jerry Durant Auditorium.

Students inducted into the National Technical Honor Society are allowed to wear the NTHS tassel on their graduation clothing.

Each member has a NTHS Seal placed on their diploma and listed in the graduation ceremony.

Information is available to members online and the newsletter of the Society

Members may receive personal recommendations for employment, college admission and scholarships provided by Society’s national headquarters.
